Siesta Gardens ("we", "us") respects your privacy. We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
When you send a booking enquiry or contact us, we collect the details you choose to share: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and unit you are interested in, the number of guests, and any message you send. If you book, we may also keep the information needed to manage your stay and payment.
2. Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and confirm availability.
- To manage your booking, arrival and stay.
- To send booking related messages, such as arrival details and a follow up after your stay.
- To keep basic records required for our business and by law.
We process this information on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to your request and hosting you. We never sell or rent your information.
3. Sharing
Your details reach our host, Retha, and are stored on the systems we use to run the guesthouse, such as our website host, email provider and booking tools. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We only share information with others where the law requires it.
4. Cookies
This site keeps cookies to a minimum. The booking calendar and any embedded maps or listings may set functional cookies needed to work. We do not run advertising trackers.
5. Storage and retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and stay, to meet legal and accounting requirements, and then we remove it.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do so, contact info@siestagardens.co.za or +27 81 583 8898. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always appear on this page.
